A message from the Board of Directors at Visit Isle of Wight

Dear BID Levy Payer,

We wanted to update you directly about the recent changes at Visit Isle of Wight and the important work now underway to strengthen the organisation for the future.

As you may be aware, Managing Director, Will Myles, has now stepped down. This follows a period of significant change, including the election of 12 new Directors to the Board. We recognise that the past few weeks may have raised questions or concerns, and we want to reassure you that we are taking clear, decisive action to rebuild confidence and set VIOW on a much stronger path.

This is an important moment of reset and a chance to create a better, more open and more accountable organisation that genuinely works for the Island’s visitor economy.

Here’s what we are doing right now:

• Strengthening governance
We are carrying out an urgent review to fully understand what went wrong in the past and to make sure these issues cannot be repeated. This work is well underway and will continue at pace. You will be updated with the full results and processes moving forward.

• Reviewing all marketing activity and expenditure
We are looking closely at previous and planned marketing to ensure BID levy money is being invested responsibly, transparently and with clear benefit to the Island.

• Introducing regular members’ meetings
We want to communicate openly and make it easier for you to ask questions, offer ideas and help shape future priorities. A regular meeting schedule will be announced shortly.

• Encouraging all levy payers to become members
Paying the BID levy does not automatically make you a member. Registering as a member gives you a direct voice in decision-making, including the ability to attend meetings and vote. The link to become a member is HERE.

We know confidence has been shaken, and we are not ignoring that. We want to be clear: this is a new era for Visit Isle of Wight. Your new Board is committed to transparency, accountability and delivering real value for your business.

We will continue to keep you informed as this work progresses, and we genuinely welcome your engagement and feedback as we move forward together.

Warm regards,
Visit Isle of Wight Board
