Visit Isle of Wight’s visitor website (visitisleofwight.co.uk) now integrates with VisitEngland’s Tourism Exchange GB (TXGB), a booking system that provides more opportunities for accommodation and attraction/activity businesses to become bookable on our website.

This means the opportunity to work with us to move customers from “look” to “book” on our website and drive more sales for you.

What is TXGB?

TXGB is an online booking platform, developed in partnership with VisitEngland. It offers tourism businesses the opportunity to display bookable availabiltiy onto our website and other booking websites and channels to increase exposure online.  

How can TXGB help my business?

• Drive direct bookings via the Island’s destination website (visitisleofwight.co.uk).
• Share live availability and pricing.
• Opt into multiple sales channels from one simple-to-use dashboard.
• Access key sales channels including Red Funnel, the VisitBritain Shop, Lovetovisit, Days Out, AA Rated Trips and Day Out With The Kids.
• Connect with global brands including Google Things To Do, Viator, Airbnb and Booking.com.

What booking websites/channels does TXGB connect with?

TXGB connects with a variety of distribution websites/channels, domestically and internationally, all in one place. These range from niche operators, to OTAs, and destination websites like ours: visitisleofwight.co.uk! It also allows you to make your own website bookable, if it isn’t already.

What if I already have a booking system?

By integrating our website with TXGB it will provide more opportunities for you to connect your booking system with our website. There will be systems that TXGB connect too that we haven’t been able to integrate with before. If you’re using any of the systems that TXGB connect with, you will be able to automatically add your availability and pricing to our website and other channels. You won’t need to manually upload your availability and pricing all you will need to do is select the opt in option for each channel and TXGB will do all the work to automatically add availability to these websites, including ours!

What if I don’t have a booking system?

If you don’t have a booking system you can use the TxLoad to manually upload your availability and pricing onto TXGB. This will allow you to display your availability onto our website and be online bookable. Also, you will be able to connect to other booking websites/channels.

How is this helping local tourism?

We want to be able to provide the latest availability on our website to make it as easy as possible for visitors to look and then book instantly with you directly. By adding your availability to our website you’re front and centre stage to the many people that visit our website to plan and book their holiday to the Isle of Wight.

What are the costs?

It’s free to register and get connected with TXGB. Their fee is 2.5% + VAT for each booking. Also, there will be a Stripe fee per transaction to process the booking. If you opt into other booking websites/channels a commission maybe charged. However, there is currently 0% commission on our website when opting into our website/channel. You will need to purchase the availability/online booking bolt-on, if you haven’t already done so. This bolt-on is only £80 + VAT for 12 months which will ensure that you have bookable availability on our website.

What if I’m already bookable on your website?

Our website currently integrates directly with the following booking systems – Freetobook, Eviivo, Supercontrol, booking.com, Expedia and HotelPlanner. Therefore, if your web page already has a direct link to one of these booking systems your business is already bookable on our website. If you’re not currently showing bookable availability on your web page and you use one of these booking systems, please get in touch with Jill to discuss further – jill@visitwight.org or 01983 240086 / 07495 408225. You may wish to review the booking system that you currently connect with to see if connecting with TXGB could benefit your business.
