Retro Events are a sell-out success

from Jack Up Events

Jack Up Events, the Island’s leading provider of retro musical entertainment, is proud to announce the success of two sell-out shows at Shanklin Theatre on consecutive weekends.

On Saturday 25th February, Jack Up Events presented “A Night of a Thousand Freddies,” an exciting and dynamic tribute to one of the worlds’ greatest and most iconic bands in rock history, Queen.

The show featured The Bohemians, an outstanding group of talented musicians who brought Queen’s iconic music and theatricality to life on stage. The audience was on its feet from start to finish, singing along to hits such as “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Will Rock You,” and “Somebody to Love.”

Following the success of “A Night of a Thousand Freddies,” Jack Up Events returned to Shanklin Theatre on Saturday 4th March with “Jack Up The 60s with The Zoots.” The show celebrated the music and culture of the swinging sixties, featuring some of the most beloved hits of the era. The audience was transported back in time with performances of classics such as “I’m a Believer,” “Downtown,” and “Hi Ho Silver Lining.” The show was a trip down memory lane for those who lived through the sixties and a delightful introduction to the era for younger generations. Party-goers in sixties dress snaked their way through the aisles, swinging their hips to “The Loco-motion.” There then followed a rousing finale of “Hey Jude.”

Both shows were sold out, with enthusiastic audiences packing Shanklin Theatre for two unforgettable nights of music, entertainment, and nostalgia. Jack Up Events would like to thank the performers, crew, and volunteers at Shanklin Theatre for their hard work and dedication in making these shows a success.

Event Organiser Sarah Moss said; “After several very challenging years, the events sector at large is still in recovery, so to sell out two shows in two weeks and to see so many people singing, dancing and enjoying themselves fills our hearts with pride.

Our boutique Jack Up Summer Party will be returning to Retro Staycations on Hazelgrove Farm in Ryde over the weekend of 12-13th August, along with the return of our Abba Chique Party Night, taking place at the same location on Saturday 1st July. Tickets for both events go on sale in the coming weeks.

We’re also delighted to announce that following their superb performance on Saturday evening, The Zoots will be returning to Shanklin Theatre on Friday 22nd September Jack Up The 70s. They’ll also be treating audiences to their full “Sounds of the 80s” show at Jack Up Summer Party in August. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page and website jackupevents.co.uk for full details coming soon.” Jack Up Events’ free to attend community event, “Ticket to Ryde” featuring a wide range of local acts and Island traders, will be returning to Eastern Gardens on Ryde seafront for the first of four bumper bank holiday weekend celebrations this Easter, 7-10th April.
