VIOW: Welcome to the team Amy, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Amy Summers

Amy: “I’ve worked in marketing and communications for over 15 years, more recently I have been working for a local authority as a Communications and Engagement Manager. Since leaving university doing my BA (hons) I’ve continued studying whilst working full time gaining a MA in Marketing in 2012 and last year, I completed my MBA through the Open University.

“Place management has always been an interest to me and having previously worked for a Business Improvement District as a Marketing Manager, I know how VIOW can support local organisations and provide a platform to share their messages.

“I’ve recently moved to the Island to be closer to family, so I’m excited to see more of the Island and find some hidden treasures along the way.”

VIOW: What do you think will be your biggest challenge in your new role?

“Along with most sectors, the travel trade has been severely impacted by the pandemic. We need to continue to work with operators to make sure that we proactively keep the Island’s profile on their radar and celebrate all that the Island has to offer.”

VIOW: What are you most looking forward to in your role?

“I’m really looking forward to managing projects and creating content that will inspire sustainable transport across the Island, whether that’s to explore the Island and find a good walk, somewhere to eat, or, to visit a local attraction. The Island has so much to offer, and I can’t wait to showcase the Island at national and international exhibitions.”

VIOW: What do you like to do in your spare time?

“Having two young children keeps me busy, so we like being outdoors and exploring new places, making new memories. When I’m not running around after them, I enjoy taking some time out to go swimming or spending time listening to music.”
