Take the bus to Tapnell Farm this summer!
this in from Tapnell Farm
This summer, visitors can once again catch the bus to Tapnell Farm, thanks to a seasonal service being run by Southern Vectis for the summer holidays. Route number 27 will operate every day throughout the six-week school break, starting Saturday 20 July – Sunday 1 September, providing a travel option for local families and visitors. The service fits with Tapnell Farm’s ethos of encouraging visitors to ‘Go Green’.
Following feedback on last year’s pilot service, Southern Vectis has added more times to the timetable this season, now offering daily morning, afternoon and early evening buses to get visitors to and from Tapnell Farm – which means visitors can now enjoy time at the all-weather Farm Park attraction or lunch at The Cow Restaurant & Bar. The route will run between Newport and Yarmouth Bus Stations via Tapnell Farm. A special shuttle bus service will also be connecting visitors from Yarmouth to the Park during the day.
For a full day at Tapnell Farm, leave on the first bus from Newport Bus Station at 0930 and catch the last bus home from Tapnell at 1740- giving over 6 hours to play and explore the Farm Park. For an afternoon of Farm Park fun, or a late lunch at The Cow Restaurant & Bar (followed by a walk on the Tapnell Trail!), there is a 1405 service from Newport Bus Station and a 1320 service from Yarmouth direct to Tapnell Farm, with the last bus back to Yarmouth at 1625 and to Newport at 1740.
You can catch the bus to Tapnell Farm from anywhere on the Island by asking for a ‘Through to Tapnell’. The fare will cover a single route from home to Newport Bus Station, where you’ll change for the Route Number 27 to Yarmouth via Tapnell Farm. ‘Through to Tapnell’ tickets cost £4.50 Adult / £3.40 Young Adult / £2.25 Child / Under 5’s go free.
A great value option for visitors travelling with Southern Vectis is to take advantage of the Group Rover Ticket which provides 24 hours of unlimited bus travel across the Island, including on all open top Breezer routes, for up to 5 people for just £25 – that’s just £5 per person. Under 5s go free! For more information about Route 27 and Rover Tickets visit: http://islandbuses.info/
