Exhibitions Partnership to visit BBC Gardeners’ World Live

The Isle of Wight will be highlighted at the BBC Good Food Show Summer and BBC Gardeners’ World Live which is returning to the NEC in Birmingham from Thursday 13 – Sunday 16 June. The Island’s stand – G300 – will showcase the Isle of Wight’s attractions including the coastal gardens which benefit from one of the mildest climates in Britain.

Information on how to get to the Island by ferry, and bus, cycling and walking routes to make the most of your break will be available on the stand in the gardening area of the BBC show.

The Island will be taking its place at the exhibition alongside a star-studded line-up of top gardeners including Monty Don, Carol Klein, Wight In Bloom patron Alan Titchmarsh – who has a home in Cowes, and celebrity chefs Ainsley Harriott, Tom Kerridge, Raymond Blanc and Michel Roux Jr, Mary Berry, Nadiya Hussain, and Prue Leith.

The show is just one of a number where the Island is promoted by the Isle of Wight Exhibition Partnership, a group of leading attractions, ferry operators and Visit Isle of Wight.

Bryn Jones, Travel Trade and Exhibitions manager said:

‘Large consumer shows such as the BBC Gardeners’ World Live are aimed at a discerning audience who have a good income,  value their leisure time and are prepared to spend time searching out the latest trends, tips and experiences. They like good food and spending time in beautiful gardens – two aspects that the island has in abundance.

‘The work of the Exhibition Partnership is integral to the work of Visit Isle of Wight. The partnership has grown out of an understanding that meeting potential visitors and group organisers face-to-face – to have a physical presence, where people can talk to you, is important.

‘When the Exhibition Partnership meets, we share information and best practices, continually look at different ways to make the show stands work even better and always make sure we are attending the exhibitions that are right for the Island.’

There is an opportunity to for businesses who want to take a leading role in promoting the Island at consumer and trade shows to join the Partnership before the next exhibition year.
