The Spyglass Inn is named Isle of Wight Pub of the Year
The Spyglass Inn has been in touch with some great news...
The Island’s best-known pub, The Spyglass Inn has been named as the Isle of Wight winner of the National Pub & Bar Awards 2019. The Spyglass will now go through to the National Pub & Bar Awards Grand Final which takes place on Wednesday 22nd May at the prestigious BAFTA Piccadilly in Central London, presented by renowned food critic Jay Rayner.
The National Pub & Bar Awards are organised in conjunction with Pub & Bar Magazine and selects 94 county winners who are then in the running to be crowned one of 15 Regional Winners, or the overall National Pub & Bar of the Year. Each pub is selected on its service, product range, aesthetic design and entertainment schedule.
“We are delighted to have got this far in the awards, it is thanks to our brilliant team, our trusty suppliers and our lovely customers who continue to support us. We are all keeping our fingers crossed for the next stage.”
Adam Edmunds, general manager
“These (selected) pubs represent all that is great about the trade. You can only imagine the fantastic variety of operations we have discovered through the judging process. What’s great about the awards is that all the attendees of the Grand Final are already winners – they’re the best in their county.”
Tristan O’Hana, editor of Pub & Bar magazine
