Volunteer Travel Ambassador

So you want to be a Travel Ambassador? Fantastic! Welcome to the team.

What will I need to do?

You’ll be meeting and greeting visitors and telling them all about the things to do and see on the Isle of Wight. You’ll be armed with leaflets that are full of ideas to inspire our visitors to keep coming back for more.

Where will I be based?

We’ll work with you to make sure you’re based at a location that is convenient for you. Sometimes we welcome visitors as they come off the ferry or hovercraft, but there are also opportunities for you to volunteer from one of our Visitor Information Points or even on board a steam train!

What skills will I need?

You’ll have good communication skills and will enjoy speaking to members of the public. You’ll be enthusiastic, positive and approachable, and will have a genuine desire to promote the Isle of Wight as the perfect place for a holiday or short break.

What support will I receive?

We’ll make sure you have access to lots of information about travel and we’ll help you to answer questions if you’re not sure about something. We’ll make sure that you know who to contact if you have any problems and you’ll also receive refreshments and a Travel Ambassador t-shirt.

How much time will I need to commit?

It’s totally up to you. We have lots of opportunities available and we really appreciate your time, so anything you can help us with will be great.
