Camping and Caravanning Guide 2018

27th March 2018

Camping and Caravanning Guide aims to attract new business for the Island in 2018

The Isle of Wight Camping & Caravanning Guide 2018 has today been published in the May edition of Practical Caravan Magazine, one of the most popular editions of the year as it includes the annual Top 100 Sites Guide. It is Britain’s biggest-selling caravan magazine, with a strong family readership, making it the perfect media for promoting the Island to potential new visitors this year.

Solent worked closely with Visit Isle of Wight, Wightlink and Red Funnel to produce this brand new tourism publication which is a showcase of the Island’s best caravan parks and campsites. This sector is extremely important to the local tourism economy and the Isle of Wight is a natural destination for this growth market. Visit Britain say that in 2017 there was another 4% rise in Staycations in the UK, on top of an 11% increase in domestic overnight trips in the 10 years since 2006. The Caravanning and Camping Club also say that early indications for 2018 are positive, with a 10% increase across its 106 campsites compared to last year.

30,000 copies of the Isle of Wight Camping & Caravanning 2018 guide will be distributed via all newsstand editions of ‘Practical Caravan’ Magazine, as well as the full subscriber list for ‘Practical Motorhome’, which covers a slightly older audience profile.

As well as the magazine, an additional 5,000 copies will be available at a range of international travel shows, including Vakantiebeurs in Holland which took place in January, and the Camping & Caravanning Show at the NEC; as well as at campsites, Tourist Information Points on the Island and around the south coast.
