New Acts Announced For Jack Up The 80’s

It’s been revealed that chart topping dance outfit Phats & Small will play a Sunday set at this year’s Jack Up The 80s festival in August.

The duo consisting of Jason “Phats” Hayward and Russell Small shot to fame in the 90s when their single Turn Around became an international hit.

Organisers said:

“We like to try and cater for everyone and here’s something for our younger audience members. Phats & Small have become a real festival favourite in recent years and guarantee a thumping party set.

Jack Up The 80s is renowned for being one big Summer party and that’s the true essence of what people love about it. As long as the acts remain in keeping with the overall party vibe, for us the decade in which they achieved success pales into insignificance.”

The multi-million selling, award winning, Brit nominated duo also had hits with the likes of Feels Good and Tonite. Over the years, they have worked with some of the world’s biggest artists including Earth Wind & Fire, Arthur Baker, Jean Michelle Jarre, Simply Red and The Lighthouse Family.

Jack Up The 80s takes place over the weekend of 11 and 12 August.

Whilst Early Bird tickets have now sold out, Tier 1 tickets priced at just £50 for the weekend are available to purchase from as well as over the counter at Island outlets including the County Press shop in Newport.

Day tickets are now on general release at £38 with prices frozen for a third year running.

The festival has worked with partners Wightlink and Red Funnel to offer mainland visitors 20% off ferry travel when purchasing their event tickets via the Jack Up The 80s website.

The earlier you buy the greater the saving! Kids aged 12 and under go FREE!

For those who simply can’t wait to get the party started, Jack Up The 80s presents the unstoppable The Magic of Motown Under the Stars concert on the evening of Friday 10 August.

Seen by over a million people, the show is one of the biggest success stories in British theatre history. Featuring 40 back-to-back classic Motown hits, glittering costume changes, dazzling dance moves and outstanding musicianship this is an explosive concert experience guaranteed to kick start what is set to be a rousing weekend of feel-good fun.
