Tourism Conference Presentations

 The 2017 Isle of Wight tourism conference took place at Norton Grange Coastal Village on the 7th of March. More than 250 tourism professionals met to hear new ideas and trends in tourism that could serve the Island well in the future.

1. Videos

A seven minute video that outlines the 2016/17 marketing campaign timetable and how the WIGHT BID marketing fund is being spent.

A five minute video explaining Visit Isle of Wight’s Events development work and a list of the main ways that Wight Bid levy payers can engage with the scheme to make the most of their investment this year.

An eight minute video revealing the background to the hugely successful Isle of Wight festival, including an interview with Festival creator John Giddings. You can feature this video on your own website by pasting the “embed code” into your own site.


Samantha Richardson – Director, National Coastal Tourism Academy:
Shore Potential – opportunities for growth on the coast – what are the key growth markets for coastal communities in the off-peak period?  And what are the challenges that we need to work collectively to overcome? With a particular focus on the opportunities from Wellness tourism, this presentation will cover the latest research and set the scene of what’s happening at a national level relating to coastal tourism.
