VIOW PRESS UPDATE – 15 JUNE 2016
News from the Visit Isle of Wight Press Office
Our small, tight-knit PR and marketing team continues to work across a whole range of Travel Media and partners to ensure the Isle of Wight brand stands out and catches the attention of potential visitors.
Regular desk visits with national travel writers and Visit England staff, targeted press releases, organised fam trips and a steady flow of interesting content being posted on Social Media channels, is resulting in some great coverage for the Island. So far this year, we have organised 25 press trips and have generated just short of £1M worth of national and international media coverage. Please continue to let us have your press releases – or just a sentence or two about your new event/attraction etc. We can’t guarantee coverage but we will endeavour to promote your business to the relevant media.
Here’s just some of the latest coverage we have received:
- Camping & Caravanning magazine (Shipwreck Isle/Festival of the Sea).
- Weekly News.
- Süddeutsche Zeitung – the number one daily newspaper in Bavaria, circulation: 381.844/daily.
- Killwerwall – This German coverage follows a group press trip we helped organise in April – a collaboration between TSE, BMI Airlines and Southampton Airport to promote the new Munich to Southampton flight route which launched this year.
- Tourism South East
- Het Nieuwsblad, Belgian travel feature – 1st page and 2nd page. This follows a visit by Dirk Musschoot last year.
