The third Isle of Wight Tourism Conference will take place on Wednesday the 2nd of March at Gurnard Pines on the Isle of Wight. Conference tickets are free, but must be reserved in advance (See how to book below). The conference will start at 10am and finish at 1.30pm. Delegates are welcome to stay for lunch and further networking after the Conference. Delegates can pre-order a buffet lunch with their Conference ticket (optional @ £5 per head, payable on the day).

Highlights of this year’s conference will include a presentation outlining Visit Isle of Wight’s 5 year destination marketing plan and funding proposals, visiting speakers will include the Chief Executive of Visit Cornwall, Malcolm Bell, a “What’s New on the Island” showcase of new developments and attractions planned, as well as useful technical presentations about social media, marketing and developing your business. Further guest speakers will be announced shortly.

Here’s a first look at the anticipated Conference programme. The final line up may still change.

9am onwards – Exhibition and swap shop opens

10am – A year of challenges ahead – opening statements Simon Dabell

10.15am – Key note welcome address (Guest speaker TBC)

10.45am – The 5 year plan for developing the visitor economy (VIOW)

11.45am – coffee break

12.15pm – Visiting Guest Speaker -= Malcolm Bell CEO of  Visit Cornwall

12.45pm – What’s new theatre – three new ideas / opportunities / products under the spotlight – guest speakers TBC

1.10pm – Accessible tourism – Guest Speakers Jan Brookes

1.30pm – Closing remarks – SD / DT

1.40pm – lunch for those who have booked it / exhibition and literature swap shop until 2.30pm

2.30pm OPTIONAL (open invitation) one hour marketing workshop open to all to attend.
