VISITENGLAND NEWS

VisitEngland said its commitment to supporting travel agents selling so-called stay-cations would continue following its formal separation from VisitBritain. CEO James Berresford said: “This gives us the role we have always wanted. We will be leading strategic development across the industry to ensure England’s tourism offer is compelling.” Under government plans, both bodies will be tasked with encouraging overseas visitors to travel beyond London while in the UK. VisitBritain will lead overseas marketing, with VisitEngland ceasing international marketing to focus on domestic tourism.
