A new grant funding opportunity to support sustainable transport on the Island will be announced in early January. Organisations will be able to apply to the ‘Drive Less, See More’ fund to seek financial support for projects which reduce the impact of visitor travel on the Island and grow the value of the visitor economy. Grants of £10,000 will be available to support promotion, marketing, training and innovation linked to sustainable transport.

The funding is part of Isle of Wight Council’s successful applications to the Department for Transport’s Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF), which seeks to normalise sustainable transport, reduce carbon and create economic growth through a range of innovative projects.

Anyone wanting to be notified of the full details of the scheme when it is launched in early January can register their interest now with Community Action Isle of Wight. Email:  Tel: 01983 524058.
