WALK THE WIGHT IS CELEBRATING ITS 25TH YEAR – CAN YOU HELP?

Walk the Wight is an annual event held in aid of the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.  2015 will be a particularly special year on the Island, as there will be celebrations to mark the Walk’s 25th anniversary. Every year thousands of people take part and enjoy the Island’s areas of outstanding natural beauty, many of which are only accessible on this day of the Walk. A proportion of those who already take part actually live on the mainland, but there is scope for many more to join us.

_DSC8228webAs you can imagine, completing the full marathon-length walk takes some doing and can leave people wanting to stay overnight and enjoy more of the Isle of Wight while they recover. There are 4 different walks which appeal to all walking abilities, from professional, keen and fit ramblers and walking groups, to those interested in the scenery, wildlife and unique opportunity to walk across the Island.

The Earl Mountbatten Hospice is asking the Island’s accommodation providers and attractions to consider offering a deal for those looking to come over to stay on the Island for Walk the Wight 2015. This could include a Friday/Sat – Mon/Tues stay, their registration & donation for the walk, the booking of their boat using your own discount or those that will be offered by ferry providers (Hovertravel have already offered 50% to those using the Walk the Wight code they will create). You may even choose to include a trip to an attraction, or possibly a much-needed massage or treatment to have after the walk.

The registration pack will cost approximately £20, which includes a donation to the Hospice, an anniversary t-shirt, walker number and event information. This can be sent directly to the walker or to you to give to your customers when they arrive. _DSC8164
