New data from the Department for Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) shows that visitor numbers are up at UK museums and galleries in April 2013 to March 2014 compared to the previous year.

The Taking Part survey produced by the DCMS shows that more than half of adults (53 per cent) have visited a museum or gallery in the past year. The survey also states that 78 per cent of adults have attended or participated in the arts while 73 per cent of adults have visited heritage attractions.
